- General Info for Samaria Gorge:
The biggest and maybe the most known Greek island, Crete ,
does not offer only pleasure to holidaymakers and archaeology
fans. Equally attractive is also for the lovers of adventure and
hiking. The reason for Samaria Gorge, of course. Has a length of
13 km and is considered one of the biggest Gorges in Europe. It
was created by a small river running between the White
Mountains (Lefka ori) at an altitude of 1,200 m , ending at the
shores of the Libyan Sea in Agia Roumeli. Interesting here is to
notice the shelter for many species of birds (like Griffon
vulture, Bearded eagle, Bonelli’s eagle , Golden eagle e.g.) . In
order to traverse it you will need approximately 5 hours with

reach the Hora Sfakion where a van of our company will wait for
you for the way back.
